A Better Chance, is a national non-profit based in New York City. They are dedicated to increasing access to quality educational opportunities for talented students. Through its transformative programming, A Better Chance empowers scholars to realize their full potential and become leaders in their communities!

 

THE CHALLENGE

A Better Chance faced challenges in fostering an inclusive and cohesive work environment while supporting the growth and development of its team. 

Key challenges included:

  • Upskilling People Managers: Many people managers need the skills and confidence to lead with empathy and accountability, essential qualities for creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Research supports this, with 88% of U.S. workers agreeing that empathy leads to more effective leadership, while 85% believe it directly boosts performance and productivity (ATD)

  • Addressing Generational Differences: With a multi-generational workforce, enhancing collaboration and belonging across age groups was a priority. Studies highlight that 89% of employees view generational diversity as a positive aspect of work, and 87% believe it fosters innovation and problem-solving (Live Career)

  • Developing Practical Tools for Success: Team members sought actionable resources to thrive in their roles and contribute effectively to the organization’s growth goals.

Recognizing these needs, A Better Chance sought a tailored learning and development solution to align team dynamics with organizational objectives while fostering a culture of trust, communication, and clarity.

 

THE SOLUTION

Reimagine Talent Co. collaborated with A Better Chance to empower its team through a customized program designed to enhance people manager development, foster belonging, and navigate multi-generational work environments. The program focused on:

  • Identifying Opportunities for Growth: Through stakeholder interviews and a review of internal materials, Reimagine Talent Co. gained insight into the organization’s unique challenges and opportunities, ensuring the program was tailored to A Better Chance’s goals and culture.

  • Equipping People Managers with Foundational Skills: Managers were upskilled to lead with empathy, accountability, and understanding, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for their teams through a training series and leadership coaching.

  • Providing Actionable Tools for Success: Practical resources such as worksheets, toolkits, and LinkedIn Learning paths were designed to empower employees with ongoing development opportunities.

  • Building an Inclusive Workplace Culture: Leaders and individual contributors learned strategies to address generational differences and foster collaboration, enhancing a sense of belonging across the organization.

This program aligned team dynamics with organizational priorities, creating a foundation of trust, communication, and inclusion to drive future growth and success.
