Case Study - Corvias Foundation
THE WHO
Corvias Foundation is dedicated to empowering military families and scholars to pursue higher education and meaningful career pathways. Through strategic programming, Corvias Foundation supports its scholars in achieving post-graduation success by fostering career readiness, goal setting, and empowerment.
THE CHALLENGE
Scholars from military families often encounter unique challenges in navigating the evolving career landscape. Research indicates that military-connected students move three times more often than their peers, leading to disruptions in their educational continuity. This high mobility can result in feelings of underpreparedness when aligning their skills with market demands and personal goals. (Data Quality Campaign)
Additionally, more than 90% of children in military families attend civilian schools that may lack understanding of the unique experiences and stressors of military life. This lack of tailored support can hinder their ability to secure internships, articulate a professional narrative, and achieve long-term career success. (Oxford Academic)
Furthermore, almost all educators believe that military-connected students experience higher stress than their civilian peers; however, 45% of these educators are not confident in their ability to help these students prepare for college or careers. (District Administration)
Recognizing these challenges, Corvias Foundation sought a tailored, scalable approach to equip their scholars with the tools and confidence to excel in their professional journeys.
THE SOLUTION
Reimagine Talent Co. partnered with Corvias Foundation to execute a two-year career & workforce development program designed to empower students and early career professionals (scholars) with the skills, resources, and guidance necessary for post-graduation success! The program included:
Program Kickoff and Career Assessments: A virtual kickoff session introduced scholars to their coach, program goals, and key career development themes. Scholars completed onboarding tasks, including a National Association of Colleges & Employers career assessment, Myers-Briggs career assessment, and submitting resumes and LinkedIn profiles. Engagement and milestones were incentivized with digital badges.
Personalized Career Coaching Sprints: Scholars participated in three personalized coaching sprints per program cycle, covering themes like resume and LinkedIn profile development, personal statement and professional etiquette, and mock interview preparation and internship planning. Each coaching session was tailored to individual scholar needs, based on intake form data.
Peer Learning Roundtables: Two facilitator-led open Q&A roundtable discussions offered opportunities to discuss career navigation, development and growth ideas and offer peer perspectives.
On-Demand Learning Hub & Reporting: Scholars gained access to a comprehensive Career Hub, housing session recordings, toolkits, and resources. Ongoing assessment and reporting included pre- and pulse surveys measuring career readiness progress, mid-year and year-end reports highlighting engagement, outcomes, and feedback, and focus groups to gather insights and refine the program.
THE TRANSFORMATION
Through this highly personalized and interactive program, Reimagine Talent Co. empowered Corvias Foundation scholars to take actionable steps toward their career aspirations. Scholars built resumes, practiced interviews, and explored career pathways aligned with their strengths and goals.
The program provided scholars with a roadmap for professional success, equipping them with tools to navigate the workforce landscape confidently despite external disruption and pressure points.
