Case Study - Girls Who Code
THE CHALLENGE
Women of color make up less than 10% of all Bachelor’s degrees earned in computing, and Latinx women are most underrepresented in computing Bachelor’s degree completion rates relative to their population in postsecondary education.*
The Head of Programs and Director of Alumni Programs at Girls Who Code sought our help with expanding their programs across the U.S. college and university landscape to reach underrepresented and underserved students.
The organization desired to launch clubs at diverse institutions - namely: HBCUs, HSIs and Tribal colleges in order to directly develop the next generation of women of color computer science graduates and professionals.
THE SOLUTION
Reimagine Talent Co. conducted a landscape analysis of computer science undergraduate degree holders at diverse institutions nationwide. Leveraging our learnings, we then conducted a full discovery analysis of national programs to form strategic recommendations that would guide the nonprofits’ 2022 impact vision.
THE TRANSFORMATION
Our solutions empowered the non-profit to reach their goal of increasing the number of coding clubs on campuses, and, ultimately, the number of future computer science graduates who are both women and people of color.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING ABOUT OUR WORK TOGETHER
“I worked with [Reimagine Talent Consulting] on a large-scale research and strategy project to do a deep dive on the data driving some of our programs, and to find gaps where we plug in and help students even more.
From our initial meeting, [the] team communicated exceptionally well, asked really insightful questions, and helped us hone the project to be its most useful for our team. The ultimate presentation and strategic plan were exactly what we needed, and the attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and style were excellent.”
