As part of the LVMH Company, Kendo is a global beauty brand incubator based in San Francisco, California. Kendo employs over 900 employees.

 

THE CHALLENGE

Kendo, a leader in the beauty industry serving as an incubator in developing global powerhouse brands, sought to enhance its organizational culture and inclusivity with a focus on crisis communication (care communication). 

To maintain its commitment to innovation and authentic storytelling, Kendo sought to equip its leaders with the tools vital in navigating internal and external events while fostering an engaging, connected culture.

 

THE SOLUTION

Over the course of 15 months, Reimagine Talent Co. partnered closely with Kendo executives, the Kendo Chief Diversity Officer, and the Kendo People & Culture team to support a culture-aligned approach to crisis management “care.” This included:

  • Developing a care communication plan that aligned with Kendo’s values and priorities. 

  • Upskilling the people and culture team to support programs, policies, and practices that aid their global teams through internal and external events.

  • Equipping leaders with strategies to embed inclusion into crisis management and day-to-day operations.

  • Facilitating leadership training and offsites that build a foundation of care response and support inclusive team culture.

  • Ensuring people leaders were prepared to guide and support their teams with knowledge, awareness, empathy, and inclusivity.

  • Advising the team through internal and external events and offering perspective on intentionality in connecting with the customers and partners.

  • Coaching the diversity team on using appropriate, inclusive language and navigating business and employee matters proactively and intentionally.

THE TRANSFORMATION

Kendo strengthened its leadership capacity to navigate challenges while fostering a culture of inclusion. 

Our partnership provided actionable strategies to align internal culture practices with long-term business goals, enhancing employee engagement and supporting Kendo’s commitment to be the global beauty leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
